Town elections coming

Elections for municipal offices will be Nov. 8 for Georgetown and Andrews. Pawleys Island does not need an election because the sitting members ran unopposed.

Georgetown has partisan elections, Andrews is nonpartisan (so is Pawleys).

Here are the candidates for Georgetown's elections:

James Moody, Republican; Carol Jayroe, petition; Incumbents, all Democrats: Rudolph A. Bradley Clarence Smalls Peggy Wayne

Here are the candidates for Andrews' elections:

Mayor: Rodney Giles, incumbent Council: Angela Anderson, incumbent Patsy B. Greene, incumbent

No one filed for a third council seat, which will be filled by a write-in vote. Council member Terrance Middleton is running as a write-in candidate against the mayor.

Here are the incumbents for the town of Pawleys Island:

Mayor, Bill Otis; Council: Mary McAllister Mike Adams Glennie Tarbox Sarah Zimmerman

Absentee Voting

If you are a registered Georgetown County voter, you may apply for an absentee ballot by person, by mail, or by contacting Department of Registration and Elections, at 303 North Hazard Street, Georgetown, SC 29440. Phone: 843-545-3339.

If you apply by mail, the above office must receive your application no later than four days prior to the election.

If you wish, you may apply and vote in person up until 5 p.m. the day before the election.
